PMP seemed to be a great alternativ

PMP seemed to be a great alternative to the Butterfly Marketing script, although from what I saw, it wasn't as easy to use. (Admittedly, I didn't have admin access to either one, but from a customer standpoint, this is what I experienced, and this is a script / concept that requires the customer experience to be as easy as possible.)
Considering that a large part of the functionality of PMP was the affiliate system, it seems to be a natural outgrowth of the new PAP4 system to create a plugin to add the membership management functions.
Of course, we could also envision a shopping cart module being added in the future, which could REALLY make this a "killer product".

My wishes for a PAP-Module is, that it works for non-professional Affiliates

Hi Andrej,
ups ... I just saw that the last post was from Alan, not from you. ;-)
My wishes for a PAP-Module is, that it works for non-professional Affiliates. That it looks like a "refear-to-a-friend"-page, that I can also show my customers.
Imagine: I have about 3.500 Newsletter-subscriptions and about 35 Affiliates. The affiliates are Internet-Freaks who exactly know what Affiliate-Marketing is and how to do. They want to earn money, they know about Conversion-Rates, about Cookies and so on.
I would never try to teach a customer, one of the persons that pay money for my products, to be an affiliate. Customers are customers and Salesman are salesman. Sure, when somebody asks me ... there are a few situations, when this is okay, but really just a few.
PMP is for my opinion more a "refer-to-a-friend" then a marketing-software. This is what I want my customers to get in. They can sign in, they can see theire friends in the Tree of Sub-Affiliates, but they don´t get the masses of data, anonymous data, they are just something like a "friendship-network". They are bouth: Customers and "Salesman light"". But only the "light"-version.
I also would like to have the commissions separate: My customers get "just" a bonus for refering: Products for free or a Voucher for 50$ in my shop, things like that. They can earn 5% commision, but then they can´t get the money for, they get it as a bonus to buy other products.
You understand? The one is a "friendship-network", the other one an "affiliate-marketing-network".
Best wishes, Julian!

Hi again,
I have thought a few days about that and now I want to give you a more precise description about my idea, how I´d like to see PMP integrated in PAP.
The main difference is:
PAP is for Business
PMP is for Friends
So the PMP-Login should be an "easy-to-use"-Interface, not really with banners or campaign-management, more like a "Friends-Network".
When a user logs in there the first thing he can do is directly "invite a friend". He simply fills out a form with the eMail of his friend, and then the friend gets a "PMP-Invitation-eMail".
The promotion-eMails also can differ. In PAP there are the viral PDFs, which are great. The also should be in PMP, but in a different way to use:
--> Sent this PDF to a friend!
Meaning: The PMP-User can choose a PDF and then directly let PMP mail this PDF to a friend, possibly with a personal note. So he can choose, which PDF is the right thing for his friend.
Because "Friends" sort in other ways than business I would love to see the possibility for the PMP-User, to simply sort his affiliates to other sponsors. Meaning: When I am in there as an affiliate I would possibly like to "move" one of my affiliates to another affiliate, because they are even better friends. Simply by draging and dropping this would be cool. And everybody would be happy.
The most important thing for my opinion is the usability. It must work for the stupidiest user, which has not even a clue about what affiliate-marketing is. It should be the ultimative "refear-a-friend"-system integratet in the PAP-Network.
I am not sure if I see a need for PMP to sell products directly in the system. But I guess other merchants like to do that. So an easy "buy&download" would fit in there also. But the main point for me is not the "shopping" but much more the networking.
On my server there are some systems, different shops an communities, all connected to PAP. So I like to let the "friends-network" grow and to let them see how many friends they have in theire network. Like a "social networking" for "partners and money-earning". It would remind most of the users more about an offline MLM Programm then about an online affiliate program. And that is what I would love to see, because every online-freak is getting an Affiliate. The offline-users, the non-internet-freaks should have the "easy portal" to also participate on PAP.
Best wishes, Julian!

- Place an order
When there is a site, where I can put "special offers", that will be placed in the "outer system", that is cool. For example: I have a Product for 100 Dollars in an XT:C-Shop. When I can offer an "order with special-price-link" in PMP, so that PMP-Members can place this order with theire special-price in XT:C ... how cool!
The price-difference could be handeled as a "charge-back". Meaning: The user pays the full price in the outer System, but then back in PMP he puts the order-ID in (which is saved in the PAP-Framework) and get´s a special-commission for his own order.
This looks like when there is a store, but the PMP-Members can go into a "Back-Room" only for "special members" where they are treatened special and get special-offers and commissions for friends. How cool!
features from PMP

why has it been such a battle to incorporate PMP with PAP. I like PMP because it provides every affiliate with a webpage if they don't have one themselves. I also like the OTO idea and I also like the free and paid members having different member areas. PMP is a great product and I just wsh I could get all the great features of PAP incorporated making it KILLER product. The reason I think you guys have had such a poor response to PMP is because the affilaite tracking and mangement of the affilates is done so much better with PAP that most are opting to go with PAP instead of PMP. I think if you made PMP with all the functionality of PAP you would see many more people choosing PMP.
PMP - the missing link

Just to chime in - to me the HUGE benefits of PMP are:
1. that the customer is automatically made into an affiliate after purchase.
PAP is the best software around for reliability, tools, etc. but the fact is that it really only works with affiliate marketers - trying to get a customer to join the program is nearly useless - at least in my niche.
2. Another positive is the simple list of promotional tools that is immediately available. PAP has some amazing tools, but I can't get any of my JV partners or affiliate to use any of them - they can't figure out what they're promoting (I know it isnt THAT difficult to figure this stuff out - I've got some lazy affiliates right now)
3. I don't know if this is possible since it seems to be a non-issue to most folks on here - but setting up a split payment/instant payment for the affiliate like the Rapid Action Profits Script and Butterfly script would be a huge benefit
PAP without PMP's functions makes it really hard to get any kind of viral effect with a product.
Right not I've got everything Jerry Rigged together to try to add some viral-ness to my sales...
I used Affiliate Page Dominator to make a one page list of affiliate tools for each product - so customers can just plug in their PAP referral ID and get a list of tools....then had to put a video up explaining to customers. how if they sign up for the program they can be promoting quickly. Then I made PAP's sign up form available in an iframe so they wouldnt have to leave the page. But I'm STILL losing a lot of people who have to go check their email to get to the PAP login.
I think PAP is fantastic - thats why I've stuck with it instead of going to other programs like RAP or butterfly manuscript. But... If PMP's automatic sign up could be included, it would solve a TON of problems.
