PAN merchant roles and merchant invoicing and some tracking ideas
2 years ago submited by David
I know that PAN is based on PAP and that PAN was released few months ago. But the developpers need to have in mind that an Affiliate Network with a lots of different merchant is not the same as having One merchant affiliate network. The need for an affiliate network anre not the same therefore the quality team should look forward to treat this two products s different and not as Father and Son :-)
Ok now I go with the ideas or better say the weakness of PAN
More options for merchant roles:
Merchant can modify some parts for the campaign details, example give him right to create new commissions, delete commissions or not, change campaign description, etc)
For the moment the PAN merchant role option are too basic.
Invoicing:
For the moment VAT can be set only for affiliate invoicing the Network and Network cannot invoice merchants with VAT... Here is what I was saying in my comment about PAP and PAN. PAN still has a lot of futures from PAP that are not useful when building an affiliate network for more than one merchant.
Tracking:
PAN has very nice futures (flash cookie, direct linking, etc) but when it comes to make the integration it is not very practical. Here I will speak about the click tracking integration and will send back to my comments for PAP and PAN should have different integration methods because is very difficult to ask all the merchant to integrate the click tracking into the footer of all their pages!!! And you know that without the click tracking some type of links do not work..and sales are not tracked. It would be nice not to have to implement the click tracking,
I think that before making new developments you should fix the basis because if not, it will l be late, and you know that the more you patch the more trash code you get and the more the system fails!
iKeep doing the good job!
