First impressions

I installed PAP4.0.4beta (which was VERY easy to do) and started going through the interface making adjustments and testing things out. Here is a list of things I noticed that should be addressed.

If any of this is unclear (these are very quick notes as I went through the interface), feel free to ask questions. I will be happy to clarify anything.

In 'Cookies' settings, Save button disappeared after checking "Overwrite Cookie". Was able to hover over the button to find it, but it was invisible at the time.

In 'Fraud Prevention', "duplicate orders" language is not clear - same order ID, or simply multiple orders? Seems to be the latter.

For Parameter Names, it would be nice to support multiple names for each parameter to support old URLs while migrating to a new format.

Constants for Banner Formats should also include Title and Description variables (as well as Height, Width, img_src, etc.). (These are not 'constants' as indicated by the label.)

Height & Width of image and flash banners should return only numbers and leave the actual HTML formatting to the user.

Setting Default Payout Balance 1st time results in a message that appears to be an error when it is in fact an informational message that makes no sense -- "Default Payout Balance is mandatory". Similar messages throughout application.

Edit Payout Option does not show all fields, even when resizing the window.

Note for documentation - Invoices. What are they for?

VAT settings - As an American, I have no idea how this should be set. Some standard guidelines here will help a lot.

Name for available fields in affiliate signup form should be editable even if the type, code, and status are not.

Note for documentation - Affiliate Panel-Menu & screens. Not clear how to design.

After activating plugin "Actions after signup" and restarting the application, I am unable to find where to define these actions. Plugins and Configuration seem to be the most likely places, but nothing new is showing.

When selecting Payout method of Check, no field appears for "Payable To" in Merchant panel.

Editing affiliate details (of pre-defined test affiliate) does not change display of affiliate details in Campaign Manager. Still showing "affiliate@example.com" even after logging out and back in again. Also, entered data is not being saved beyond the session.

General question - will reports show clicks when click commissions are disabled?

Trends report seems to be missing the $/click and conversion ratio data.

Clicking the time filter (and data filter) in Trends report places drop-down selection behind graphic report.

Cancel button in Add Commission Group does not work.

Changes in Campaign settings are not reflected in Campaign overview until after logging out and back in again. Changes need to be reflected immediately -- no exceptions.

Clicking the Add Filter link in the Send message screen takes me to Affiliate Manager screen with no indication of how to create a filter.

I eventually found the filter creation in Advanced Search, yet no way to filter/search based on sales performance of affiliate. This is the ONLY way I foresee wanting to filter my affiliates for email purposes.

For reference, my server is using Linux, PHP5.2.5 with Zend2, Apache 1.3, MySQL 4.1.22-standard, and my browser is Firefox2 on a Fedora 8 Linux machine.

Design! How can the admin/merchant choose what Template the affiliate will see? Yes, I will let them the choose, but I want to "force" them into the new tempate first, so they can notice. ;-)

Importing seems not to work. I aligned all data to the format like PAP4 exports everything, I get no error-message but there is no new affiliate in the system after importing. I only tried it with importing affiliates.

However ... don´t put a priority on the importing! If it is a 5-mintute-thing that is nice, but if it needs longer I guess it makes more sense to first concentrate on the upgrade-script.

And some compliments: The installation is really one of the most easy installations that I´ve ever seen online! The plugin-system seems to get great (easy downloadable and installable), everything seems fantastic in the moment!

I have one more thing, that would be a lovely module for future time: A shared user-database. What about having a module, that brings all users together, also the users from the support-center and so on? There can all (!) data be saved, even the data from customers (lifetime-comminssions / eMail-saving) from transactions, the admin-acconts, the merchants, the agents, I mean really every (!) user!

Then every user in the main-database can be marked as "where he is signed in". And in the systems, where he is signed in, he can log in and work in the role, which is defined in the main-database.

Would be a great step, because in the long-run this could get something like a "general API". I imagine a plugin for joomla, for vbulletin and so on, that brings other software also to share this database. I would love to see this as a "start" for a general user-database which brings togehter different systems.
